But I pulled them out the clean out the pistons (they seem to be a bit slow to retract on heavy braking) and noticed that it looked like the L/R pads were flipped. WebCuz if that’s the case you’ll probably need a whole new set up brake and rotors. No no. Picture the letter c, it’s supposed to look like a C but in this case I put it on like Ɔ. If you can get the backing pad flat it will be fine to use. If you have a die grinder you can use a sanding disc to smooth it out.

Either the notches/marks will line up with the assembly/shields and the pad will face the rotor, or it won't. Did it on a brake flush since I always pull the pads and clean and push the pucks back. Heard a funny noise on the way to work when I applied the brakes so I gently rode the rest of the way to work. When I got there I had the inner pad on the left side in BACKWARDS!

Take the caliper back off and check for any contact between the clips and rotors. You may need to grind the rust and corrosion out of the caliper brackets before you put the clips in.
