WebOct 15, 2009 · I like it a lot better than the green glazing putty I had used, since this Bondo stuff dries a lot faster but is a lot more easier to sand and form. It is also a "usable" substitute for the Squadron White putty, but it doesn't go on as thick as the Squadron can. thanks, newbie, Ed WebI've been using Squadron Green Putty for YEARS. Maybe a couple of decades, but this is the worst experience I've had so far with this product. Maybe this was just a bad batch, or maybe it's a Chinese ripoff. The so-called putty had the consistency of snot, and I had to squeeze out about half of the tube's contents to actually get the the putty.

I use 3M Acryl Blue which is an autobody glazing putty. It shrinks, but not as much as Squadron Green and it sands much nicer. It doesn't tend to "chunk" as much as the green stuff when you scribe a line in it either.

The white putty seems a bit better, actually. If you're talking about the 'glazing putty' then it's OK to use for 'thin' putty jobs. It's very similar to squadron green or white putty. I use it all the time and it dries really quick.
